Vision Statement

Body of completed musical works consisting of more than one hundred forty pieces to date

Musical works performed at Old South Church in Boston (Boston, MA) since December 2001, with current service as Composer-in-Residence

Artist Certification through the City of Boston (MA), since 2016

Original hymn written for 200th anniversary of City Mission (Boston): Called to Walk with Sister, Brother, Old South Church in Boston; hymn performed at Old South Church in October 2016

Two larger-scale original pieces: Intercessions and By Moonlight, completed during second residency as Composer Fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (Amherst, VA: winter 2016)

Commissioned and original song settings of Madeleine L’Engle’s poems: “Annunciation” and “After Annunciation,” performed in Germany. Performance by Adriana Repetto, soprano and Michael Vetter, organ, on the Feast of Annunciation: March 25, 2015 (Bautzen, Germany)

Pianist and represented composer for Into the Light: A Journey with Jesus of Nazareth, a program for the 2014 national convention of the American Guild of Organists (Boston, MA)

Pianist and represented composer for Remembrance and Hope, a program for the one-year anniversary of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, held at Old South Church (April 2014)

Playing of piano (keyboard) for numerous residential communities in the Boston area; seasonal and/or thematic programs drawing from repertoire from classical literature, the Great American Songbook, and original music. Writing of choral work commissioned by George Sargeant, Director of The A Cappella Singers: The Coming of Light for violin, women’s chorus, and piano (Text and Tune: Ner Lí and words by Mark Strand); work premiered at Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church in December 2016 (Natick, MA)

Composition of liturgical piece commissioned by Harry L. Huff, Minister of Music, Old South Church in Boston: Magnificat for congregation, two-part mixed choir, and organ (Text: Luke 1:46b-55 (KJV)); work premiered at Old South Church in Boston (January 2012)

Composition of hymn commissioned by Diane Gaucher, on behalf of Old South Church in Boston: You Are the Promise of Tomorrow: A Hymn for congregation and organ (Words: Bettina Blake); hymn premiered at Old South Church in Boston in January 2011
